Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974)

Working on completing Clint Eastwoods acting filmography and this wasn’t exactly a hidden gem, but still a fun unique movie showing Eastwoods comedic skills - which we get to see way too rarely.

Clint Eastwood and a very young Jeff Bridges is the cornerstone of this action-comedy-road-heist-movie. Their friendship and bonding over them both being sleazy criminals makes the movie worth watching.

It has 70s written all over it with unshameful nudity and fistfights that seems to hurt. The humor felt a bit flat for me, but made up for it with the two charming lead roles. The ending takes a more violent and depressive turn, which I found a bit strange compared to the overall fun-rump tone the rest of the movie has. Maybe that was part of the point, that this sort of high risk criminal lifestyle can’t last forever.
