Three Colours: Red (1994)

Of the three films this was the hardest to comprehend for me. Blue and White has plenty of strong emotions front and center, where Red seems more reserved and subdued. The main characters are not so easy to read. Yet again it was a very interesting experience to watch this movie, but for different  reasons.

Blue and White gave me lots to ponder on powerful emotions like loss, grief, friendship and of course love. Red isn’t as emotional but has more philosophical aspects about destiny, free will and personal morales.

I don’t think I have a favorite in the trilogy. All were fascinating in their own right and of course the ending here in Red tied things together. That ending is really something else.
