Stagecoach (1939)
Still being unfamiliar with classic American westerns, this was one of the important ones to watch. I know it is a very important and influential movie that revitalized the genre and restarted John Waynes career. But because it started a new Era, basically every other western since then has been directly or indirectly influenced by it, so watching it today it doesn’t feel very original or groundbreaking.
So I admit I was a little bored in the beginning but the cast of colorful characters gradually won me over. Though very archetypal, the passengers became more than the sum of their parts throughout the journey.
